The etrailer Content Engine · 12-Month Build · Jul 2026 to Jun 2027
It starts at the neighbor's question.

Video first.
Neighbor always.

Built on a blacksmith's dream.

Video first is the smart play. We film the expert team, connect that video to the written word, and turn one shoot into everything a neighbor reaches for: FAQs, articles, quick how-to guides, and comparison charts.

Story is the thread that ties it together, so every piece sounds like the same trusted neighbor.

Expert VideoExpert Video. The root of everything. We film the people who actually know the gear, so the truth comes from them, not from a writer guessing. Connected Content TreeConnected Content Tree. One linked structure where every video, article, FAQ, fitment record, and clip points to the others. Nothing lives alone. Data-FedData-Fed. Neighbor intent and performance data decide what we build next and what we fix, so the engine runs on evidence, not opinion. AI-AccessibleAI-Accessible. Structured so AI can reach any piece and surface it in search and answers. Reachable by AI, not built for AI. Neighbors still come first. Neighborly VoiceNeighborly Voice. The experts' real words set the tone. Helpful, plain, human. The way you would explain it to a neighbor in the driveway.
Where my head is at

My Thesis

etrailer is right to chase AI. Where I had it wrong was looking at all of this through a written-word-first lens. The smarter move is to start with video and tie it to the written word. Film the expert team, let what they actually say drive the direction, and build out from there. Story is what holds it together, and the neighbor sits at both ends of it.

What I want to move away from

Written word first

Start with an article, maybe add a video later. The writing and the video never really connect, it is slow to produce, and it leaves the expert team's best material on the cutting room floor.

What I want to build toward

Video first

Start with the expert on camera. Break that one source of truth into everything else: articles, FAQs, clips, answers. One shoot becomes many assets, all carrying the real neighborly voice, all reachable by AI.

The big picture, first

The Ecosystem

Here is the whole thing before the pieces. It is one loop that runs itself, and it is pushed by more than search data. Seasons, campaigns, and our vendors all shape what we make and when. Neighbor intent says what to solve, the engine makes it, it gets in front of them, they get helped, and what they do next becomes the data that starts the loop over. The content tree is just one stage inside this.

The Content Tree

This is the production stage from the loop, up close, and it is not starting from zero. etrailer already has well over a thousand expert videos, most of them already transcribed, plus thousands of articles written and tracked for decades. The real work is connecting each transcript to all of it, so one source of expert truth ties the videos, the FAQs, and the guides together. The drivers below point the camera, and what already ranks high tells us what to make next.

The Neighbor, Helped
Met at their question, in the format they want
Not every video maps cleanly to content, there is always some variance, and that is fine. The point is the connection: every transcript wired to the FAQs, Q&A, and guides it supports. Built reachable by AI on purpose, not built for AI. Neighbors come first.
Where it starts

The Expert Team

The expert team already knows this stuff cold, and they have already made a pile of videos. That is the gift. We are not starting from a blank page. We start in the middle, with what they have built, and grow outward from there.

Start from what they built

The team has already filmed a lot. We catalog it and treat it as the center of the tree, not an afterthought. Credit where it is due.

Film them leading training

Going forward, capture the expert team while they teach, and ask the product questions a neighbor would actually ask.

Let their voice lead

Use the team's real words and phrasing to set the tone and voice, so the writing sounds like them, not like a machine.

Break it down, then wire it

Turn each video into its pieces and connect them to taxonomy, fitment, and FAQs. One video becomes many assets.

What "break it down" actually means

TranscribeFull text of what the expert said, searchable and reusable.
Scrub the transcriptHunt it for tips, tricks, and the real questions buried in there.
ClipCut the video into short, indexed segments by topic and step.
Build the piecesFAQs, expert Q&A, a 101 guide, the article, a comparison chart.
Grab stills and diagramsCapture key frames as images for articles and answers.
Tag and linkAttach taxonomy and fitment so every piece connects to the right products and questions.

Why we document all of it

Building from the center out is not just tidy. Every time we lock down what good looks like, we are writing the playbook an AI can follow. That is the whole point of fortifying each stage first.

The agents we will lean on are ephemeral. They do not carry memory from one task to the next, so the documentation is what they run on, not some saved context. The better we write down what works, the longer and more autonomous the tasks we can hand off, and the AI inherits a system that already works instead of guessing.

The plan

The 12-Month Build

The goal, in plain terms
By June 2027, every expert training shoot turns into a connected web of video, articles, FAQs, and answers, tuned by neighbor-intent data, that catches neighbors at their question and grows on its own. The matrix below is just how I get there.

The first real test

What Proves It

The proof is not a category. It is the method working once, start to finish: an expert training turned into a content piece backed by neighbor-intent data, then broken into the tree. That single artifact is the first true node of the engine.

The proof artifact

One training, turned into neighbor-backed content

Film an expert leading a training, break it into the tree, and publish a piece that answers a real, data-confirmed neighbor question. If that works once, the whole engine is real.

This is what makes it video-first rather than a written article with a clip bolted on.

Leading candidate: RV AC "Not Cooling." It already has the deepest neighbor-frustration data, it is diagnostic and visual, and it demos cleanly on camera. A strong first training to capture, to be confirmed against the data.
Pre-video bridge

Weight Distribution refreshes

Several top-performing weight distribution articles already exist. I update those in parallel: real wins now, improved, while the video engine spins up. These run alongside the proof, not as the proof.

What it is not

Not "RV proves it"

RV and weight distribution existed before video, so neither one proves the new method on its own. RV cluster content may be part of the proof set, but the test is the training-to-content workflow itself.

Where the revenue comes from

The YouTube channel is the revenue driver. We take it over and point it at the neighbor.

Video is how neighbors decide now, and the channel is where that decision happens. Every transcript we scrub, every FAQ, guide, and comparison chart feeds back into video that earns the watch, the click, and the sale. Help the neighbor well enough and they buy, come back, and send the next one. Revenue is the receipt for help that landed, and YouTube is where it lands.
